ODM Turns Funeral into Orange Carnival

ODM party dressed MP Were casket with bright orange colors at his burial Friday. The lawmaker asked friends last year to wrap him in party flags when he died. He spoke these words during another party member's funeral. Orange filled the air as many fans came to say goodbye at his home in Kachien. The party handed out caps with matching scarves for people attending.

Party official Sifuna felt happy they kept Were's wish with all the oranges on display. Leaders packed the Karabok school grounds to talk about Were strong love for ODM. Governor Wanga said the room looked exactly as Were wanted it. A gunman shot Were April 30 near City Mortuary after he tried to stay safe from danger. The police learned attackers had watched him for days before they acted.

The funeral turned into a celebration of Were's loyal life with the party. Leaders talked about how much he cared about ODM throughout his years. Thousands showed up dressed in party colors to honor his memory. His last request proved how deep his party feelings ran. The ceremony showed ODM valued him just as much as he valued them.
