Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the 69th National School Games on Monday in Srinagar by kicking a football to mark the start of the competition. The event features 30 teams from states and union territories competing in football, wushu, taekwondo, and table tennis at six venues. Abdullah told participants that sports foster unity and friendship among youth from different regions, while pledging government support for athletes' comfort and safety. Ministers Satish Sharma and Nasir Aslam Wani attended the ceremony as teams marched past and officials took oaths of sportsmanship.
