Ombudsman bins resident’s copyright beef with MTC

The little guy just caught a massive L fighting the corporate machine because the Office of the Ombudsman tossed out a complaint from Keetmanshoop resident Willem Eiman. He accused Mobile Telecommunications Limited of playing dirty via attempts to nuke his copyright for a prepaid concept called Multiple Awehs. Basilius Dyakugha ruled that since the move failed, nobody actually got hurt.

This drama started back in 2017 when Eiman supposedly pitched the billing idea. He claims MTC ghosted him, but then rolled out the product years later without cutting a check. Patience Kanalelo from the telecom giant fired back, arguing that the resident actually swiped their internal concepts.

Documents show MTC pressured the Business and Intellectual Property Authority to cancel Eiman's paperwork. Vivienne Katjiuongua shut that down, explaining that only a judge holds the power to strip rights once granted. Eiman feels gutted that the watchdog refused to even slap the company on the wrist for the shady maneuver.

Legal chaos continues as Eiman filed criminal charges last September after dropping a civil suit when his lawyers folded. John Ekongo stays quiet, recycling old lines about pending court matters to dodge questions. It seems the battle over who invented these data bundles keeps dragging on.
