Over 1.6 crore trained under PMKVY as Jayant Chaudhary touts new tech focus

The government has successfully trained over 16 million people through its main skill development program during the past decade. Minister Jayant Chaudhary reported that 12.9 million participants received official certificates by the end of June. Additional training programs under the National Skill Development Corporation reached 17.4 million more candidates. The ministry allocated 1,538 crore rupees for the current financial year to support these efforts.

The latest version of the program introduces modern courses in artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, robotics, fifth-generation networks, and data analysis. These subjects prepare workers for emerging job markets and technological changes. Training centers operate across all districts with special attention given to underserved regions and communities affected by extremist activities. Officials monitor these centers through both physical visits and online systems to maintain quality standards. Legal actions against non-compliant training facilities help ensure program effectiveness and proper use of public funds.
