Over 250 delegates to meet in Kinshasa for the regional economic forum

More than 250 participants will gather in Kinshasa for discussions centered on economic cooperation across the Great Lakes region under the patronage of the Democratic Republic of Congo President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. The Ministry of Regional Integration and the Public-Private Partnership Council are organizing the summit alongside the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region heads of state meeting to advance infrastructure development, energy access, and agricultural productivity as foundations for regional stability.

Attendees will examine major transport initiatives, including the Lobito Corridor connecting the DRC, Zambia, and Angola to Atlantic ports, a railway network supported by the African Development Bank linking Tanzania, Burundi, and the DRC, and a road system facilitating DRC-Uganda trade. World Bank Country Director Albert Zeufack, Angolan Foreign Affairs Minister Téte António, and UN Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region Xia Huang are among confirmed participants.

Organizers plan to introduce a digital monitoring system enabling real-time tracking of integration projects while enhancing coordination among member states and transparency between government institutions and private sector partners. DRC Regional Integration Minister Floribert Anzuluni Isiloketshi emphasized that shared prosperity through economic linkages remains essential for consolidating peace throughout Central and East Africa.
