Pakistan digital trade summit erupts as rivals question regional leader's claims

Pakistan's top trade boss made a huge push for digital commerce at a major business summit held at Serena Hotel Islamabad. Rana Ihsaan Afzal told government officials and business leaders that Pakistan must become the regional king of online trade. The GLOBE Pakistan Summit 2025 brought together companies from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus and Pakistan to talk about internet business deals. Trade officials organized the event to show off Pakistan's plans for becoming a digital powerhouse. More than 100 business people attended the summit to make connections and strike deals.

The government wants Pakistan to lead Central Asia in online shopping and digital payments. Afzal stressed that computer algorithms and data flows are changing how countries do business with each other. Pakistani officials signed cooperation agreements with the three visiting nations to boost internet trade between the countries. The summit featured presentations about digital payment systems and shipping infrastructure. Local companies like Daraz, Telemart and Laam met with foreign partners to explore business opportunities.

Trade experts believe digital commerce holds the key to Pakistan's economic recovery and export growth. The event included both face-to-face meetings and virtual networking sessions between Pakistani and international companies. Government departments worked together to showcase Pakistan's progress in building reliable online business systems. Summit organizers aimed to position Pakistan as a serious player in regional digital trade rather than just another participant.
