Pakistan eyes Uzbekistan's $3 billion pharmaceutical import market

Pakistan's Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, conducted talks with Uzbekistan Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev on Friday. Both officials explored opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation between their nations before Khan's scheduled diplomatic mission to Uzbekistan. The discussions centered on aligning economic policies with the Prime Minister's directives while identifying mutual benefits. Trade facilitation measures and business partnerships received primary attention during the diplomatic exchange. The meeting addressed logistics improvements and cross-border commerce enhancement strategies.

Khan advocated for collaborative projects in tractor production and mineral extraction sectors. Officials established a bilateral commerce target of two billion dollars through strategic partnerships. Business delegation exchanges will facilitate sector discussions across information technology, electronic commerce, and financial services. Ambassador Tukhtaev highlighted Uzbekistan's pharmaceutical import market, worth three billion dollars, as an opportunity for Pakistani companies. The Uzbek representative invited Khan to examine the country's Techno Park for potential technology cooperation.

Both parties agreed to pursue artificial intelligence and digital commerce initiatives. Khan presented a traditional gift to the ambassador, representing strengthened diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
