Pakistan orders 200,000 tons of sugar in price control move

Pakistan's administration has completed arrangements for purchasing 200,000 tons of sugar from international suppliers. The Ministry of National Food Security and Research confirmed that officials have placed the final purchase order. September 2025 will see the first sugar deliveries reach Pakistani ports. Government negotiators secured reduced pricing through international market discussions. These imports aim to prevent domestic price increases while ensuring adequate supplies for consumers.
