Pakistan's CCP raids two fan makers in Gujrat price probe

Competition Commission of Pakistan officers searched two major electric fan manufacturers and their trade association in Gujrat. Authorities suspect these companies engaged in price manipulation and market control schemes. The investigation targets potential breaches of Competition Act 2010 Section 4 provisions. Teams collected business documents, financial records, and electronic data during the raids. Officers examined three years of company pricing information and association communications.

Trade association circulars revealed coordinated price increase announcements across member companies. Multiple manufacturers adjusted their rates on identical dates with suspicious frequency. Price variations between competing ceiling fan models measured just 0.05 percent in some cases. These uniform pricing behaviors indicate possible illegal coordination among industry players. Such practices violate competition laws and harm consumer welfare through artificial price inflation.
