Parents Rejoice as Fees Zap Instantly with CenteFees

Airtel Money Malawi teamed up with Centenary Bank to help parents pay Catholic school fees faster. The new service called CenteFees lets families send money through Airtel Money straight to schools that use Centenary Bank. Parents can make payments from home without visiting bank branches. The companies launched the partnership at a ceremony in Lilongwe. School officials will track payments as they arrive.

Thokozani Kamkondo Sande runs Airtel Money and says the service helps families and schools work better together. Edwin Watchi has a child at St. John's Secondary School and likes the quick payment option. Sister Valentine Gudyanga from St. John's School says teachers can watch money come in right away. The service saves time and cuts travel costs for busy parents.

The companies also created CenteValue for Airtel Money agents who bank with Centenary. Agents can move money from their bank accounts into their Airtel Money wallets without leaving their shops. Bridget Mikundi works as an agent in Kawale and banks with Centenary. She says the service helps agents keep enough cash for customers. Godfrey Byekwaso leads Centenary Bank and wants more schools to join the program.
