PDP official warns Ibas over board shakeup

Rivers State is heating up with drama as the temporary leader, Vice Admiral Ibas, faces backlash for his recent actions. He appointed officials to run all 23 local areas despite a court saying he could not. The retired military man also changed members of state boards across agencies without legal approval.

PDP heavyweight Olabode George came out swinging against these moves. He called everything Ibas did against the law. George reminded the administrator that his job only lasts six months at most. The veteran politician warned Ibas he would face consequences for ignoring the Constitution. He pointed out that nobody elected Ibas to any position.

The Federal High Court in Port Harcourt had already ruled against such appointments. Judge Adamu Turaki Muhammed specifically blocked Ibas from putting administrators in charge of local councils. But Ibas went ahead anyway with his plans. He reshuffled leadership across many government bodies despite the legal issues. George emphasized that the administrator will have to leave office eventually, regardless of presidential support.
