Peermusic names Alex Black VP, A&R, signaling a new creative era

Peermusic just brought Alex Black onto the team as Vice President of A&R for the US operation, and Jamie Cerreta made the announcement. Black will handle signing and developing songwriters plus producers while working out of Los Angeles. Cerreta has a history with Black from their time at Big Deal Music Group and later at Hipgnosis Songs Group, and he thinks Black's skills will push their writers forward both creatively and commercially.

Black spent more than 18 years doing A&R work before this move. His previous gig at Hipgnosis Songs Group had him signing acts like Beach House, Amber Mark, and Lucy Dacus while building up their publishing side. Before that, he put in time at Warner Records and Interscope Records, where he worked with bands like Twin Shadow and TV on the Radio. Black's keeping his management company, Home Run Management, going on the side while taking on this new position.
