Peter Murphy teams with Tool bassist on new retro track

Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy plans to release a solo album called Silver Shade soon. He released a track called The Artroom Wonder featuring Tool bass player Justin Chancellor, another musician from England. The music mixes gothy vibes with orchestra-backed synth-pop.

Murphy says the song looks back at his school days with Daniel Ash before they formed Bauhaus. They bravely entered a room where the cool older art students hung out. These students played The Bewlay Brothers, which Murphy thought sounded smart and mystical with really attractive vocals.

Murphy describes his lyrics as dream-like and told in his typical roundabout way. Part of the song talks about an experience leading to thoughts about Prophet Muhammad: peace be upon him. The last part of the song talks about how Murphy has grown as a person and where he stands today.
