Peter Okoye told the Lagos court he received $800K in royalties

Peter Okoye testified that SACEM paid him over $800,000 in P-Square royalties belonging solely to him and his twin, Paul. Virtual testimony before Justice Alexander Owoeye confirmed that funds arrived between 2016 and 2026, while brother Jude faces EFCC fraud charges involving N1.3 billion and $1 million.

Clement Onwuewunor cross-examined Peter about delayed royalty records requested in 2022. Documents covering 2016 through 2022, including Lex Records payments, surfaced six days after an October 16 request, though Peter claimed earlier requests lacked supporting texts or emails.

Jude signed SACEM agreements for the team but was never a P-Square member, according to Peter. The twins wrote and produced songs while Jude only directed some videos, yet Peter previously gave him 25% of earnings despite no formal employment contract existing.

Northside Entertainment Limited handled business dealings without quarterly payment demands post-2022 reconciliation. Catalogue sale interest prompted document requests, while Jude’s Northside Music Limited faces seven-count fraud allegations with not guilty pleas entered.

Hearing resumes December 8 and 9 for continued proceedings.
