Plumber admits taking $600 for work never done at Founders High

In the Founders High School fraud case, a co-defendant admitted to billing for phantom plumbing work. Lazarus Moyo told the court he submitted a six-hundred-dollar invoice for repairs never performed and accepted payment. He claimed the school owed his company larger sums anyway.

Prosecutor Milton Ncube argued Moyo conspired with deputy headmaster Nkosana Mlibazi to defraud the school. The scheme allegedly involved falsifying documents after a sports event left the school with leftover funds. An investigation by the school committee later found no plumbing work had been done at the hostel in question.

Moyo stated he simply forgot to mention the payment during a meeting with school officials. Both men face charges following a police report.
