Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive Prosper Kumi spent GH₵27,398.05 repairing District Road Improvement Programme equipment during recent months. The DRIP initiative provides local assemblies with modern machinery and training for enhanced road maintenance capabilities. Community complaints about deteriorating road conditions prompted urgent servicing of the motor grader and backhoe loader through JA Plant Pool Ghana Ltd. Repair costs included blade replacement, hydraulic seal fixes and general maintenance work.
The assembly received multiple DRIP machines upon Kumi taking office, including concrete mixers, loaders and construction vehicles. Workers reshaped 5.10 kilometers of road networks using the repaired equipment while adding gravel support valued at GH₵5,600. Total DRIP expenditures reached GH₵165,700 when combining operator wages, fuel expenses and maintenance costs. Kumi announced plans for major road construction projects connecting Wli, Likpe and surrounding areas.
