Queen Elizabeth School caught in uniform scam

The Competition and Tariff Commission has launched an investigation into Queen Elizabeth School over allegations that the institution forces parents to purchase uniforms and textbooks exclusively from designated suppliers as a condition for student enrollment. Preliminary findings suggest the school requires families to buy materials from Giplic Fashions and Gramsol Publishing before confirming admission for Form One and Form Five students. The commission stated this practice creates unfair market advantages and blocks other suppliers from competing.

Regulators expressed concern that the arrangement exploits parents and limits their ability to choose alternative vendors or produce their own uniforms. The investigation will determine whether these restrictions violate competition laws by preventing other businesses from accessing the market. Officials invited affected stakeholders to submit written statements within 14 days of the notice published on Friday. The commission emphasized that beginning an investigation does not presume guilt or confirm violations by the school or its preferred suppliers.
