Reds rule Merseyside after derby win over Everton

Liverpool secured a 2-1 triumph over Everton during Premier League action at Anfield. The victory occurred during the competition's fifth round of matches. Reds manager Jurgen Klopp watched his team claim all three points against their Merseyside rivals. Liverpool moved to 15 points and maintained their position atop the league table. Everton remains on seven points and sits temporarily in seventh position.

Ryan Gravenberch opened the scoring after eleven minutes of play. Mohamed Salah provided the assist before Gravenberch fired home a superb finish. Hugo Ekitike doubled the advantage in the twenty-ninth minute following another Gravenberch contribution. The striker slotted his effort between the goalkeeper's legs to find the back of the net. Idrissa Gueye pulled one back for the visitors with fifty-eight minutes elapsed on the clock.
