Ruto Brings Hope Schools Reopen in Kerio Valley

President William Ruto wants schools in Kerio Valley to open again. The schools closed because of attacks by bandits. Ruto told the Ministry of Education to work with others to reopen the schools. He wants this done in the next three months.

Many families left Kerio Valley to escape the violence. Ruto said the government will make sure they have homes to return to. He also ordered the Ministry of Interior to stop the bandits.

Last year, Ruto promised to improve life in Kerio Valley and other dangerous areas. He wants all children to have the same chances in life, no matter where they live.

At the prayer meeting in Kerio Valley, Interior Minister Kipchumba Murkomen thanked Ruto for keeping his promise. Murkomen said they would not let Kerio Valley become violent again and warned that criminals would be punished harshly.

Murkomen believes peace is very important for the country to grow. He praised the Church for helping to bring peace to Kerio Valley. The Church has worked to unite the different communities in the area.

Murkomen said people in Kerio Valley can now live and work in peace. He promised to work with other government departments to reopen schools. They will also set up new sub-counties and locations to improve services and keep the peace.
