Ruto splashes Sh220 million on elite Nairobi schools

President William Ruto delivered on his promise by providing Sh220 million for infrastructure improvements at two prestigious Kenyan secondary schools. Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok visited both institutions on Thursday to distribute the allocated funds. Nairobi School received Sh150 million while State House Girls obtained Sh70 million. The money will accelerate construction projects designed to reduce overcrowding and enhance educational facilities. These investments support Ruto's broader educational objectives of achieving complete student transition and equitable access to quality learning environments.

The funding will complete science complexes, dormitories, and classroom blocks at both schools before the next academic term begins. Nairobi School's allocation covers a 1,000-bed dormitory and 12 additional classrooms for nearly 2,000 students. State House Girls will use their portion for similar infrastructure developments. Bitok emphasized the president's commitment to educational advancement and ensuring no student falls behind. These improvements address the growing student populations at both institutions while providing modern facilities for science and technology education.
