AMD just showed us how fast their new RX 9070s graphics cards really are with their latest RDNA4 technology. The RX 9070 XT runs games 42% faster than the RX 7900 GRE at 4K resolution with all the graphics settings maxed out. AMD tested around 30 different games to come up with these numbers.
The RX 9070 XT also plays games 38% faster at 1440p compared to the RX 7900 GRE. Looking at older cards, this new RX 9070 XT blows past the RX 6900 XT by 51% when playing at 4K with everything turned up. The regular RX 9070 beats the RX 7900 GRE by 21% at 4K Ultra and runs 38% faster than the RX 6800 XT.
These speed tests mix regular games with games that use ray-tracing effects. AMD measured how the cards perform naturally without using their special FSR tricks or frame generation technology to boost the results.
