Leakers are ignoring embargoes to flex silicon speeds on enthusiast message boards. A poster named OC_Beer dropped a screenshot on Overclock forums displaying a Ryzen 7 9850X3D running at 5.75 GHz across every core while seated in a GIGABYTE X870 AORUS Tachyon ICE motherboard. This frequency sits roughly 150 MHz above the advertised single-core turbo, yet the user withheld specific voltage tuning or methodology details.

Getting this chip to that speed feels predictable rather than shocking. The cheaper Ryzen 7 9800X3D typically manages 5.5 GHz under similar all-core loads if builders tweak settings patiently. While the 9850X3D ships with a 400 MHz advantage straight from the factory, squeezing out extra frames requires top-tier cooling loops and stable power delivery systems to prevent thermal throttling.

With the official release barely two weeks out, testers holding early samples are likely hunting for the magical 6.0 GHz barrier on binned units. Hitting that number demands heavy-duty motherboards with beefy voltage regulation modules. Meanwhile, extreme overclockers using liquid nitrogen will almost certainly chase frequencies beyond 7.0 GHz, matching recent feats achieved on the 9800X3D platform.
