Salam Charity rolls out Smart Community Program in Rwampara Uganda

Salam Charity launched its Smart Community Program across Rwampara District to help families build better lives through local development projects. The organization brought this successful model from Sri Lanka to Western Uganda communities. Hajj Karim Kaliisa led the charity as managing director during the launch. The program targets social needs, economic growth, education improvements and health services for rural residents. Officials spent three days meeting with village leaders to plan sustainable income projects.

The charity selected four main activities that families can start quickly without large investments. Residents will raise chickens and rabbits to sell at local markets. Women and youth groups will learn soap making and book production skills. Farmers will receive training to make organic fertilizer from waste materials. These projects use materials that people can find near their homes.

Community members will work together through organized groups to increase their success rates. The program helps women and young people form teams that support each other. Group work builds stronger village relationships and helps everyone learn faster. Teams can share costs and split profits from their business activities. Working together also creates social bonds that last beyond the program.

Government officials expect the Smart Community Program to strengthen the Parish Development Model already operating in the region. Both programs focus on helping rural families earn more money from small businesses. Salam Charity plans to create permanent changes that improve living conditions across Rwampara District. The organization committed to supporting Western Uganda development through community-based solutions.
