Samia cheers for Museveni after his seventh win

Uganda just handed Yoweri Museveni another term at the big age of 80.

President Samia Suluhu Hassan jumped on social media to send props his way after the election results dropped. She posted that Museveni snagging a seventh go-around shows how much Ugandans back his whole leadership thing. The Tanzanian leader made it clear her administration wants to keep building on the tight relationship between the neighboring countries, and she thinks working together benefits everyone living in both nations.

The octogenarian president crushed it with over 71 percent of the votes cast. His main opponent was Bobi Wine, a 43-year-old challenger who pulled in roughly 25 percent when the official tallies came out. That gap between first and second place was absolutely massive.

Hassan spoke on behalf of Tanzania's government and its people when she gave Museveni the digital fist bump. She highlighted that this win reflects Ugandans putting their faith in where he wants to take the country. The congratulations came through her social media accounts, where she talked up the historical connection between Tanzania and Uganda as something worth protecting and expanding.
