SBI-RSETI trains 35 Reasi women to stitch their way out

The State Bank of India's Rural Self-Employment Training Institute has launched a free tailoring program for women in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir. The initiative serves 35 participants who receive instruction in professional stitching techniques at no cost. The program provides meals, study materials and lodging to eliminate financial obstacles to education.

Participants learn to create various garments such as A-line kurtis, frocks, lehenga cholis and uniforms through a 31-day curriculum. The training prepares women to establish boutique businesses or seek employment in fashion establishments. Students expressed gratitude for the comprehensive support and reported confidence in applying their new skills to generate income.

The institute director emphasized the program's role in enabling young women to pursue their aspirations while achieving financial independence. The effort supports national campaigns for women's advancement and aims to elevate the economic standing of participants who previously lacked access to professional training opportunities.
