Scam Tricksters Selling Empty RTX 5090s to Consumers

Scammers have found a new way to trick people who want powerful graphics cards. They take apart expensive RTX 5090 graphics cards and remove all the important parts. The criminals sell these empty shells to unsuspecting buyers online. People think they are buying working graphics cards but receive useless pieces of plastic and metal. The scam targets gamers and AI workers who need these expensive computer parts.

A repair expert named NorthwestRepair discovered this trick when a customer brought him a broken graphics card. The customer had paid two thousand dollars for what he thought was a real RTX 5090. When the repair shop opened the card, they found nothing inside except an empty circuit board. All the memory chips and main processor had been stolen. The buyer never knew he had purchased a hollow shell until he tried to use it.

These criminals make their scam harder to detect through clever tricks. They damage the screws that hold the graphics card together. This makes it almost impossible for regular people to open the card and check inside. Most buyers never realize they have been tricked until they try to install the card. The empty graphics cards look exactly like real ones from the outside.

People can protect themselves by learning about current graphics card prices. Real RTX 5090 cards cost much more than two thousand dollars right away. Smart shoppers should buy from official computer stores instead of online marketplaces. Sites like eBay and Craigslist have more scammers than authorized dealers do.
