Scam victims grow to 350 as Don Chris Skypins defrauds Ugandans of Shs 1.4 billion

Fraud allegations against Christian Asiimwe have expanded dramatically as victim numbers reach 350 people. The suspect operated Skypins Tours and Travel from Ntinda while promising employment opportunities abroad. Authorities report total losses of 1.4 billion shillings compared to earlier estimates of 600 million shillings. Youth minister Balaam Barugahara initiated investigations after receiving multiple complaints from affected individuals. Simon Peter Mundeyi from Internal Affairs confirmed the scale of reported damages.

Skypins demonstrated some legitimate operations by successfully placing seven Ugandans in Netherlands positions. This partial success apparently encouraged additional victims to trust the company with their money. Asiimwe departed Uganda through Malaba border on June 20 according to immigration records. He claims powerful connections within police and government circles controlled his activities. Ministry officials stress that no Ugandan companies hold licenses for processing Canadian or British work visas.
