Somehow, every Croat is now richer than you are

Croatian households achieved remarkable financial growth during the past decade, according to Allianz research. Financial assets per person rose from 13,000 euros in 2015 to 27,000 euros by 2024. The country experienced its strongest annual expansion last year with household assets climbing 9.9 percent. This performance exceeded both global rates at 8.7 percent and European Union averages between three and four percent.

Citizens modified their investment strategies during this period of economic expansion. Bank deposit holdings fell from 65 percent to 55 percent of total portfolios. Investment allocations grew from 20 percent to 30 percent while insurance and pension products expanded from 10 percent to 13 percent. Croatia currently holds 31st position worldwide for net financial assets per capita at 19,950 euros.
