South Demands Full Eight Year Tinubu Term

Akwa Ibom House Speaker Udeme Otong wants the South to hold power for eight years, just like the North did. He told reporters in Abuja on Thursday that Nigerians back President Tinubu because he performs well. The president makes sure governors have enough money to run their states properly.

Governor Umo Eno recently said Tinubu should stay president until 2031. Though Eno belongs to the PDP opposition party, he hinted he might leave it soon. He feels the party can no longer help his political future.

Otong praised the current administration for its financial support of the states. The Akwa Ibom governor never asked lawmakers to approve loans because federal funds proved sufficient. According to the speaker, this financial stability creates peace across the country.
