Spotify eyes another price hike for US listeners

Spotify is charging more again, hitting subscribers in the States and a couple of European nations. The streaming service announced increased monthly prices for Premium plans. United States users will see their bill jump from eleven ninety nine to twelve ninety nine. Estonia and Latvia face similar adjustments. Company communications claim the hike helps deliver a great experience and support artists.

This follows a pattern of international price increases across numerous markets. Spotify’s global Premium subscriber base reached two hundred eighty-one million accounts. The company recently achieved its first full year of operating profit. Executives signaled that regular pricing adjustments remain a strategic priority for sustained profitability. They noted steady retention rates following previous increases in over one hundred fifty markets.

Leadership argues the service now offers more value beyond music, including podcasts and audiobooks. Spotify also experiments with tiered pricing, launching a Premium Platinum option in several countries. That higher-priced tier includes lossless audio and AI features. The United States represents a critical market for the company’s financial performance.
