Stardock's Ashes of the Singularity II promises much, shows nothing

Oxide Games partnered with Stardock Entertainment to develop Ashes of the Singularity II for release during 2026. The real-time strategy sequel continues humanity's battle against advanced artificial intelligence that conquered most of Earth. Stardock Entertainment CEO Brad Wardell stated that developers plan to exceed the original game's technological achievements from 2016. The announcement trailer presented cinematic footage without revealing actual gameplay mechanics. Strategic depth will expand beyond the predecessor's established benchmarks.

Human factions join the conflict for the first time in series history. Technical limitations prevented organic characters in the original release, forcing designers to focus on mechanical units. Enhanced engine capabilities support thousands of walking human soldiers alongside existing machine armies. Players will command human forces against both Substrate and PHC mechanical opponents. The sequel addresses the most requested feature from the gaming community.
