Sukparu vows rural network push, pledges to bridge Ghana's digital divide

Deputy Minister-designate Mohammed Adams Sukparu addressed the Parliament's Appointments Committee on Friday regarding the expansion of telecommunications efforts. The official committed to supporting Minister Sam George in completing the rural telephony initiative that brings mobile network access to remote communities. This programme targets areas lacking adequate communication infrastructure throughout Ghana. Government officials designed the project to eliminate digital barriers preventing rural populations from accessing modern communication services. The initiative represents a central component of the administration's digital inclusion framework.

Sukparu emphasized his determination to advance connectivity projects that serve previously isolated regions. The rural telephony programme addresses infrastructure gaps that limit economic opportunities in underserved areas. Officials view telecommunications access as essential for promoting development across all geographic regions. The government positions this connectivity expansion as a priority for enhancing socioeconomic progress. Rural communities will gain access to communication networks that support educational and commercial activities.
