Supro Airwave Cranks Tube Tone Into Orbit

Supro created the Airwave guitar amp that mixes old tube technology with modern digital features. The 25-watt combo amp works with Two Notes Engineering to offer direct recording abilities. Musicians can practice with headphones or send signals straight to recording equipment. The amp comes with 12 speaker cabinet sounds that recreate classic Supro tones from famous recordings.

The Airwave uses tube power like vintage amps from decades past. Two 6V6 power tubes and two 12AX7 preamp tubes drive a 12-inch Celestion speaker. Players can switch between different effects like reverb and tremolo with foot pedals. The control panel has simple knobs for volume and tone adjustments.

Musicians can edit the cabinet sounds through a phone app or computer program. The amp weighs 17 kilograms and costs 1249 pounds or 1499 dollars. Supro built the cabinet from poplar wood with black covering and cream trim. The company partnered with Two Notes to compete with other modern tube amps that offer recording features.
