Shahjalal University of Science and Technology suspended classes and administrative operations for an extended break honoring religious observances. The institution's registrar, Syed Salim Mohammad Abdul Qadir, issued the announcement Sunday through an official press release. Academic and administrative functions will halt from September 28 through October 6 to accommodate Durga Puja, Fateha-i-Yazdaham and Lakshmi Puja celebrations. University officials moved the break's start date two days earlier than originally planned, shifting from September 30 to September 28 for Durga Puja festivities.
The extended recess encompasses 11 consecutive days when combined with weekend periods. Normal university operations will return October 7 following the religious holiday period. Students and faculty will benefit from the adjusted schedule that accommodates multiple religious festivals. The university made this scheduling change to better serve its diverse community during significant cultural celebrations.
