The Swapo party will show people a statue of Sam Nujoma holding a baby at their main building on Thursday. Hilma Nicanor from the party said this on Wednesday.
She told everyone the party plans a special service at their main building on Thursday.
"We will show the statue of our first president at the Swapo building at 11:00 and have a special goodbye service from 14:00. We are making an official letter that will tell everyone all the details," she said.
The baby Nujoma holds in the statue lived through the Cassinga attack. Workers put this gold-colored statue on top of Swapo's very expensive building in 2022. The building cost N$730 million.
