Syed Refaat Ahmed storms Brazil, meets Benjamin, and pushes judicial tech

Bangladesh's Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed travels to Brazil following an invitation from the National High Court's leader, Antonio Herman Benjamin. The judicial exchange program focuses on institutional reform, environmental justice, judicial independence, and technological advancements in legal administration. Both nations aim to strengthen cooperation through this diplomatic initiative.

Ahmed participated in extensive meetings during his September 12 activities at Sao Paulo's Palace of Justice. Fernando Antonio Torres Garcia, who leads the São Paulo Court of Justice, discussed restorative justice applications within criminal systems. Technical cooperation emerged as a priority for enhancing transparency and efficiency across judicial frameworks. The Chief Justice examined the court's data center and toured South America's largest criminal court facility.

This official visit strengthens Bangladesh's international judicial relationships while promoting bilateral legal cooperation. Ahmed plans to return home on September 19 after completing the exchange program.
