Accra Circuit Court granted bail to three brothers accused of defrauding a Council of State member through impersonation schemes. Nurudeen Abdul Ganew allegedly posed as Professor Joshua Alabi to steal GH¢60,000 from Hakeem Addae by promising access to auctioned government vehicles. His siblings Nurudeen Rashid and Nurudeen Gafaru face conspiracy charges alongside the primary defendant. Judge Sedinam Awo Kwadam set bail at GH¢150,000 per person with three sureties required. The court scheduled the next hearing for July 21, 2025.
Police arrested Ganew at his Wa residence and recovered multiple identification documents, mobile devices, and cash totaling GH¢14,896. Authorities later detained his brothers in Wenchi during raids that uncovered numerous phones and comprehensive lists of political executives across Ghana's regions. Prosecutors believe the trio operated an organized fraud network targeting chiefs, business leaders, and other prominent figures. The defendants entered not guilty pleas to all charges against them.
