Taraba Family Court to Crush Child Predators

Taraba State judges revealed new rules for their special family court during a Wednesday meeting. Chief Judge Joel Agya said the court will handle divorce cases and domestic violence problems. The new system targets child abuse and adoption matters across the state. Officials want better protection for women and children facing legal troubles. Dangerous people often attack victims they know well like family members and teachers.

Violence happens at home and school and other public places. Agya asked the National Judicial Institute for help writing court procedures. The state first lady Mrs Agyin Kefas pushed for creating this court system. Governor Agbu Kefas supports changes that help the justice system work better. Mrs Kefas thanked judges for acting quickly on her request.

Rising rape cases and child abuse create urgent problems that need solutions. State Secretary Gibson Kataps wants death sentences for rapists who commit terrible crimes. Women outnumber men and deserve strong legal protection from attackers. Justice Salisu Abdullahi helped design rules based on global standards and expert advice. These procedures make family cases move faster through the courts.
