Tax collectors just hit the streets for a community walk to bridge the gap with the public. The Tanzania Revenue Authority Workers Union held this solidarity event in Dodoma alongside its annual meeting. Union head Lutufyo Mtafya stated the goal is to foster safer workplaces and cooperative economic relationships with taxpayers.
The initiative reflects TRA Commissioner General Yusuph Juma Mwenda's vision for fair, positive engagement. Mtafya believes successful taxpayers enable secure and sustainable revenue collection for staff. The multi-day gathering also included a fun run combined with a tax advice clinic.
A blood donation drive allowed members to give back, noted National Women’s Committee Chairperson Jeniffer Melanie Mathias.
