Transmission Company of Nigeria officials confirmed that Tower Number 7 collapsed along transmission routes serving the Rigasa area within the Igabi Local Government. Weather conditions contributed to the structural failure when severe storms and heavy rainfall struck the region. Vandals had previously stolen essential tower components, weakening the infrastructure and increasing its vulnerability to weather damage. TCN spokesman Ndidi Mbah reported that power distribution to multiple load centers ceased after the incident.
