A teenage boy found weapons during a fishing trip at a lake near St. Petersburg. The 15-year-old pulled up a black bag with his fishing rod from Skazochnoye Lake. Police say the bag held three bayonet knives and parts of a machine gun. Officers also found 60 bullets inside the travel bag. The discovery happened at Pervomayskoye village near Vyborg.
Police tested the weapons and learned they could still fire. The boy turned over his catch to local officers who came to the scene. Authorities opened a criminal case about illegal weapons possession. They want to find who put the arsenal under water. The case falls under Russian laws about carrying guns without permission.
