Terrorist groups target the South-West for major attacks

Yorubaland's Aare Ona Kakanfo, Gani Adams, has issued a stark warning that armed militants have penetrated communities across southwestern Nigeria. He stated that intelligence gathered by his organization points to plans for coordinated assaults. Adams identified the states of Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo, and Lagos as potential targets for these groups.

He explained that recent activities in neighboring Kogi and Kwara states represent a testing phase for these militants before larger attacks. Adams attributed the threat to various armed factions, including those known as bandits and violent herdsmen, and also mentioned the involvement of international terrorist networks like ISIS and Boko Haram. He authoritatively claimed that foreign actors are helping to coordinate these activities, which he said are driven by a mix of political, economic, and ethnic motives.
