The definitive LEGO Batman experience has just seven characters

TT Games revealed LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight at Gamescom ONL 2025, describing the project as the ultimate Batman experience. The game will chronicle Bruce Wayne's complete journey through an open world Gotham City that spans multiple decades. Players can explore content from films, television series, video games, and comic books while driving various Batmobile designs. The title mirrors LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga's comprehensive approach to storytelling across different eras. Legacy of the Dark Knight represents a definitive take on 86 years of Batman history.

The developer confirmed seven playable characters: Batman, Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul. This limited roster suggests a departure from traditional LEGO games that feature extensive character collections. The game targets a 2026 release across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC platforms. Nintendo Switch receives no version, making this another exclusive for the upcoming handheld console. TT Games has not specified whether players will experience particular storylines from Batman media.
