The "Presidential" Goat Scheme... Thoughts?

Let's talk about the name of this project. The "Presidential" Goat Pass-On Scheme. Having that name attached to it makes this whole fraud by Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu even worse in my opinion. It makes it look like they are defrauding the highest office in the land.

Does this put more pressure on the courts to deliver a harsh sentence? Or does it just embarrass the government? I wonder if Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu thought that using the "Presidential" name would protect them or make it easier to get the money without anyone asking questions. It's a bold strategy if that was the case. What do you all think about that aspect?

You're so right. Attaching the "Presidential" name to it was a brilliant and cynical move. It does two things. First, it gives the project a stamp of ultimate authority. What junior official in the Ministry of Agriculture is going to dare question or slow down a "Presidential" project? It’s a shortcut through all the red tape. It's like a VIP pass for fraudsters. Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu probably knew this would make it easier to get the money out fast before anyone looked too closely.

Second, now that the whole thing has been exposed as a massive fraud, it’s a huge embarrassment for the government. It makes it look like the highest office is either incompetent or being swindled. This is probably why the prosecution is coming down so hard on Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu now. They have to show they are tackling the corruption that happened right under their noses.
