Three Six Zero formed a media unit led by Rebecca Dowell

Three Six Zero is making a bigger move into digital entertainment, with Rebecca Dowell set to lead its new Entertainment & New Media unit. The talent firm wants to work with online stars, creators who juggle several roles, and projects built around original ideas and content.

Dowell already has some major names on her client list. One is Amelia Dimoldenberg, the face of Chicken Shop Date, where famous guests sit for fried chicken and awkward chats. The series picked up a Streamy Award for Indie Series in 2021.

And that show has had quite a run. After 12 years, Dimoldenberg chose to bring it to a close. Its last season landed on Netflix and YouTube, while the streaming giant also picked up older episodes. Dowell helped make that Netflix deal happen.

Another client is Munya Chawawa, the British comic who gained fans through parody clips during lockdown. His work has earned him a British Comedy Award and a BAFTA nod. He also played Bottom in a rave-themed take on A Midsummer Night's Dream at Chichester Festival Theatre.

There's a youth angle here as well. Dowell helped both stars set up projects for young talent. Dimoldenberg has Dimz Academy Inc., while Chawawa started Black Boys Theatre Club to help young Black people get into stage work.

Victor Kunda is part of her roster as well. The model, host, and online comic has built his profile through fashion and sharp takes on daily life. His mix of skills fits the sort of talent this new team wants to back.

Meanwhile, Polyester is getting some extra attention. The London arts and culture magazine, set up by Ione Gamble in 2014, has built a voice around feminist topics. Its audio podcast began in 2019, and Dowell plans to help bring it to video.

That isn't the full plan for Polyester. Gamble and senior editor Gina Tonic will work with Dowell on live shows, merch, and brand deals. She will also manage the two as solo talents for book, film, and TV work.

Dowell has plenty of past work in this field. She held senior talent roles at YMU Group and MOXIE, part of Studio71UK. Three Six Zero credits her with helping plan the debut of Beta Squad, the YouTube group that began under Studio71 in 2019.

For the firm itself, this is another step beyond music. It has a sports arm and has made deals across film and talent management, with Forward Motion Artists among its investments. Its record label also has a global deal with Warner Music Group's ADA for distribution.

Mark Gillespie and Dean Wilson set up Three Six Zero in 2007. The firm has bases in Los Angeles, Miami, and London, with clients such as Calvin Harris, WILLOW, Kid Cudi, Jaden, and Swedish House Mafia.

The bigger picture is clear. Three Six Zero sees online creators as talent with room to grow far beyond short videos and social posts. With Dowell in charge, the new unit will aim to turn that reach into shows, deals, and long-term careers.
