Thrustmaster takes on space sim with fresh joysticks

Thrustmaster just launched their first space joysticks after years of making flight gear. They created the Sol-R 1 Flightstick and the Sol-R 2 HOSAS Space Sim Duo for people who love space games. The company has built flight accessories for over 25 years. Many space game fans already use their T.16000M joystick, but these new products were made just for space flying.

The Sol-R 1 works great whether you fight space battles or explore far galaxies. You can set up 44 different actions on its base and handle, which fits both right and left hands. Space pilots wanting total ship control might prefer the Sol-R 2 pack that comes with two complete joysticks instead of one.

You can reach 21 buttons on the handle alone, including two triggers and a scroll wheel. This lets you quickly adjust power between weapons, shields, and engines. The stick uses special magnetic sensors called H.E.A.R.T. technology for the three-movement axes, giving super smooth control with 16-bit accuracy that never wears out.

The handle stays comfy during long play sessions thanks to changeable thumb and wrist rests that work for both hands. Four extra supports keep the base steady when you make fast moves. The gray, black, and orange design looks like something from a sci-fi movie, and you can customize the 11-color lights however you want.

You can mix and match parts with other Thrustmaster products. The Sol-R base fits Viper, and Hornet handles plus future designs. You can also put the Sol-R handle onto an AVA base if you already have one. The Sol-R 1 costs $219.99, and the dual-stick Sol-R 2 package sells for $399.99. You can place early orders starting March 19, 2025, with regular sales beginning April 16, 2025.
