Toshiba N300 Goes Massive with 24TB Drives

Toshiba added new 24 TB hard drives to its N300 series. These drives offer more storage space than earlier 22 TB models. Users can store extra data on their network storage devices with these larger drives. They run all day, every day, at 7200 rpm with special sensors that handle vibrations. The regular N300 works with systems having up to 12 drives, processing 180 TB yearly.

The Pro version supports systems with up to 24 drives, handling 550 TB of data each year. Both models use helium inside to make them more power efficient. Koji Sakamoto from Toshiba says these drives meet growing storage needs for small offices. As files keep getting bigger, people need more space to store everything efficiently. The company designed these drives to help users manage large amounts of information better. They work well for performance applications where lots of storage matters. Toshiba started shipping these new 24 TB drives this month.
