Trump Vows Rescue for Astronauts Stuck Eight Months in Orbit

President Trump promised he would bring back the Starliner astronauts who stayed in space way longer than planned. Fox News shared that Trump made this promise as he signed papers at the Oval Office. The astronauts facing this problem are Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who remain stuck at the International Space Station because their Boeing spacecraft broke down.

These brave space travelers left Earth on June 5, 2024, expecting to come home just eight days later. Their Boeing Starliner ship had many problems that made NASA decide it could not safely bring them back to Earth. Both astronauts have lived at the space station for almost eight months instead of just over a week as planned.

Trump explained that Elon Musk already plans to send a rescue ship to the stranded astronauts. He spoke directly to the astronauts, saying they are loved and help will arrive soon. He also mentioned that they should never have stayed up there for such a long time. The president seemed determined to fix this situation fast.

The space agency continues working with private companies to create a safe return plan. Both astronauts keep doing their jobs despite the unexpected extended mission. Their families hope for a quick return as the new rescue mission takes shape under presidential direction.
