Uganda Celebrates Innovation and Growth at National Science Week 2025

Uganda's science minister praised everyone who joined the country's National Science Week celebration. Monica Musenero thanked inventors, students, business partners and visitors who attended the event. The week focused on turning local research into products people can buy. More than 200 new inventions filled the exhibition space at Kololo Independence Grounds. The event ran from June 15 through June 20.

Students showed off robots and environmental projects alongside business owners displaying medical tools and electric vehicles. Seventy investors from around the world came to see what Uganda scientists have created. The government wants science to help build more factories and create jobs for people. Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa visited the displays and met with inventors during the closing ceremony. He represented President Yoweri Museveni at the final day activities.

Musenero said Uganda has many smart people who create useful things. She believes science can help the country depend less on imports from other nations. The minister wants to keep supporting inventors and researchers who turn ideas into real businesses. Government officials released a report about Uganda's progress in health, technology and environmental work. The country plans to use science to transform its economy and build a stronger future.
