Vance misnames Padilla while criticizing immigration response

Vice President JD Vance made an embarrassing mistake during a press meeting in Los Angeles. He called Senator Alex Padilla the wrong name and said Jose instead of Alex during his speech. Vance was attacking Padilla along with Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass about immigration arrests happening in their city. He also made fun of how security guards dragged Padilla out of a government meeting earlier. Vance said the whole thing was just for show and cameras.

Senator Padilla shot back at the Vice President on Saturday during a TV interview. He said Vance knows his real name but should focus on removing troops from LA streets instead of making personal attacks. Padilla called the current government petty and said they are not taking Los Angeles problems seriously. He thinks the Vice President should act more professional since he holds such an important job. The Senator wants military forces pulled out of his city right away.

Vance spent five hours in Los Angeles talking about immigration raids that started on June 6. President Trump sent thousands of National Guard soldiers and hundreds of Marines to help federal agents arrest people. California leaders say bringing in the military breaks the law but a court panel said the troop move was probably legal. Trump celebrated the court decision on his social media platform and called it a major victory.
